EquipCover Pty Ltd (ABN 80 637 316 673) runs this website. This page explains what we do, who we work with and how we’re paid, so you can decide whether to use us.
What we do
We give businesses an insurance indication for their plant, machinery and equipment. With your consent, we pass your details to our specialist insurance partner, which contacts you, sends you an e-brochure for your consideration and arranges cover if you decide to go ahead.
What we don’t do
- We aren’t an insurer or an insurance broker. We don’t issue or arrange insurance, and we don’t make decisions about cover or claims.
- We don’t give personal advice. Everything on this site is general information that doesn’t take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account.
- We don’t compare insurers. We work with one insurance partner, so we can’t tell you whether another policy would suit you better.
- An indication isn’t a quote or an offer of insurance. It’s an estimate, and the insurer decides whether to offer cover and on what terms.
Our insurance partner
Our partner is a specialist equipment insurance agent. It arranges cover as an authorised representative of an Australian financial services licensee, on behalf of the insurer, which issues the policy. Your e-brochure names EquipCover as the referrer, along with the partner and the insurer, and your policy documents also name the partner’s licensee. Read the policy wording before you decide. Cover is for business use only.
How we’re paid
Our insurance partner pays us a referral fee for each policy taken out through an enquiry we refer. You don’t pay us anything, and the fee comes at no extra cost to you. We aren’t paid for indications or enquiries that don’t lead to a policy.
Your information
When you ask for an indication or send an enquiry, your details go to our insurance partner, and we keep a copy. We won’t pass them to anyone else without your permission. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, how we use it and how to opt out of marketing.
Complaints
For a complaint about EquipCover or this website, email info@equipcover.au and we’ll respond within 30 days. For a complaint about your insurance, the cover or a claim, contact our insurance partner or the insurer using the details in your policy documents. If you raise one with us, we’ll pass it to our partner so it can be handled under its complaints process. If it isn’t resolved, you may be able to take it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), a free, independent service: afca.org.au or 1800 931 678.
