This page sets out who reviews what is published here, how AI tools are used, how we are paid, where our facts come from, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Who is accountable

Every page is reviewed before it is published by James Rock (National Partnerships Director), who is accountable for what appears on this site. Nothing is published under an anonymous byline.

How AI is used

Some pages are drafted with AI assistance. Every number, limit, eligibility rule and named source is checked against the source itself while the page is drafted, not recalled from memory. A draft is not published until a person has reviewed it.

How we are paid

EquipCover is not an insurer and does not give personal advice. We connect businesses with a specialist insurance partner. If you take out a policy, we may receive a referral fee from that partner, at no extra cost to you.

Where our facts come from

Figures come from government and primary sources first: the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Australian Taxation Office, Infrastructure Australia and state governments. Details of the cover itself, such as terms, limits, eligibility and the approved item list, come from our insurance partner’s own product documents, and we say so where we use them.

Every source is listed on our data sources page, with what it is used for and where.

How often we check

Each source has a review date. ABS lending figures are checked every quarter, ABS business counts every August, and tax limits every 1 July or after a federal budget. Pages with figures show the date they were last updated.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent a statistic, or repeat one we could not check against its source.
  • We do not cite another insurer, broker or comparison site as the source of a fact.
  • We do not call an insurance indication a quote. An indication is an estimate, not an offer of insurance.
  • We do not give personal advice. Everything on this site is general information.

Corrections

If you spot something wrong, such as an old figure, a broken link or a claim that no longer holds, email info@equipcover.au and we will check it and correct it.
