How fleets work through EquipCover

  • One policy can cover one item or several, up to $2 million of insured value per policy.
  • A business with more equipment than that holds more than one policy. Each is fixed for its own term.
  • Items can be in different states and have different registration status: unregistered, conditionally registered and fully registered machines can sit together.
  • New and used machines mix: anything on the approved list, new or used up to 40 years old.

How to get a fleet indication

Start with an indication for one item on the indication form, then choose “Add item” on the result. Our specialist insurance partner prices the rest when they contact you, usually the same day.

For a larger fleet, email info@equipcover.au with a list of items, values excluding GST, states and registration status, and we’ll pass it straight to our partner.

Financed machines in the fleet

Each financed machine’s lender can be noted on the policy, and a certificate of currency issued for it. When machines are financed over different terms, the policy term can match the longest, or each machine can sit on its own policy matched to its own loan.

Adding machines later

When you buy another machine, it can be added to an existing policy where there’s room under the $2 million limit, or go on a new policy with its own fixed term. Either way, the premium on the machines already covered doesn’t change.

Hiring equipment out?

Machines on dry hire are covered when a contractual hire agreement is in place. Dry hire insurance explains what the agreement should cover.

Frequently asked questions

How many machines can go on one policy?

As many as fit under $2 million of insured value. Above that, our partner sets up more than one policy.

Can machines in different states share a policy?

Yes. Items can be in different states and have different registration status.

How do I get an indication for several machines?

Get an indication for one, then use “Add another item” on the result for the rest. Each gets its own figure and the total is shown.

Can I add a machine later?

Yes, to an existing policy with room under the limit, or on a new policy. The premiums already fixed don’t change.

Are machines I hire out covered?

On dry hire, yes, when a contractual hire agreement is in place. See the dry hire page for what the agreement should cover.
