What does stamp duty add in Victoria?
Victoria is abolishing duty on business insurance. The rate is 7% for contracts effected or renewed from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, the lowest of any state that charges it, and it falls by one percentage point each year until it’s abolished from 1 July 2033. Your indication includes it, so the figure you see is already right for your state. Stamp duty on insurance in every state.
Machines on the road in Victoria
VicRoads registers non-compliant vehicles, with conditions on how they can be used. The form asks whether a machine is unregistered, conditionally registered or fully registered. How conditional registration works.
What’s covered, wherever you are
The cover is the same in every state: sudden and unforeseen damage, theft and total loss, for the equipment listed on your schedule. Machinery breakdown from a defect and private use aren’t covered. The price for the whole term, up to five years, is set on day one, and the insured value is 100% in years 1 and 2, then a 10% depreciation is applied each year from year 3. What the policy covers.
Can one policy cover machines in different states?
Yes. Items on a policy can be in different states and have different registration. If the machines are based in more than one state, tell our partner when they contact you.
